Associate: Beth Cocker, Specializing in Teens and Young Adults
Beth Cocker is an LMSW licensed in the State of Maryland, and a graduate from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She has many years of experience working with adolescents in a variety of settings across private and public school settings, as well as community agencies. Beth has completed two years serving as social media guru and administrative assistant at Elana Woolf Therapy and is now excited to move into her role as a therapist. She currently works as a school social worker at the Foundations School in Gaithersburg.
When she is not working, Beth enjoys a variety of interests focusing around art and fitness. She enjoys weightlifting, yoga, swimming, biking, as well as recreational flag football.
Beth works with a variety of clinical and life issues impacting adolescents and young adults including, anxiety, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, life transitions and more.
Beth’s goals are to help clients find their inner strength and work toward positive change. She helps clients develop the skills to manage life’s daily stressors, and provides support as they continue to navigate the various challenges associated with adolescence. She plays a very active role in the sessions, building a rapport with her clients that leads them to feel safe and comfortable. She helps clients explore their feelings and thoughts with the intention of learning the skills and tools to create behavioral changes in dealing with difficult and stressful situations. Beth offers relevant and applicable applications of therapeutic themes for her adolescent clients that encourages them to be an active part of the change process. Beth enjoys using a variety of mediums during her session, including art, music, and journaling.
